Title | Lighter, Cigar |
Description | An elaborately decorated small lamp in the shape of an ancient lamp, like the one like that which belonged to the legendary Aladdin. It has a single wick opening. This is, in fact a cigar lighter. |
Interpretation | By the end of the 19th century, the small individual oil lamp had been replaced by kerosene lamps, gas lighting and even in some places electrical lamps. The ancient form of lamp, which was still used for whale oil and camphene lamps became used for something as insignificant as a cigar lighter. |
