Description | Champaign High school was located at 306 W. Green St. for 42 years (opened in 1914) until 1957, when it became Edison Junior High. The building’s architectural style is described as “Imposing Greek” beaux arts classical revival. Constructed of Bedford stone, the building also features brick work with tapestry design in dark brown color with terra cotta cornices. There are decorated classical motifs around the top of the structure. The building was designed by Spencer and Temple. |
