Title | Projectile Point |
Description | Off-white colored stone projectile point. Equilateral shaped head with a notched stem and a lower flared base. Sharp edges on two sides and point. Probably late Hopewell/Woodland period. |
Interpretation | This point was collected locally. Dating stone projectile points is a difficult task, especially before the arrival of Europeans. Although there is certainly evidence that Native Americans lived and hunted in Champaign County, the area was not a major habitation site. |
