Description
Turner writes to Illinois Governor Augustus C. French on political matters, possibly of those concerning James Morton and a corrupt election [Morton's lost seat]. One part of the letter, Turner writes a bit of satire, dating it March 6, 1851 and signed by A.C. Dixone, and two other names, possibly Hearst and Murreau. [Names are all in Turner's hand, preceded by "...of the Illinois State Hospital for the insane do herely call a meeting of..." Letter transcribed by a Mr. Selby.
