Description | Letter from Jonathan Baldwin Turner addressed "For the Attorn. Reporter" and to "Rev. Mr. Morton." Turner writes to the reporter to correct libelous news that was written about him. He writes, "I never belonged to any religious sect whatever and I never intend to." He asserts that he is an independent preacher who gives his own religious opinions to anyone who invites him to do so. It is implied in this letter that Turner has left his position at Illinois College. |
