Description
Hitchcock-style chair with rush seat. Black-painted with gilded lines and stencils, top rail has a stenciled tulip, middle rail stencil has grapes. Knees have leaves, turned bulbous stretcher in front, two stretchers on sides, one in back. W 18" x D 14" x H 34".
Interpretation
Belonged to Abraham Lincoln during his residence in Springfield, IL, 1844-1861.
