  • Origin: Written in Italy, probably in Tuscany, in the second half of the 14th century.
  • Binding: Contemporary full vellum.
  • Script: Written in Gothic book script by several Italian scribes.
  • Layout: Written in 13-14 lines.
  • Title supplied by cataloger.
  • Contains 1544 out of 2645 verses of the Doctrinale in Latin verse, according to the critical edition of that work published in 1893 by Karl Herbach. Text includes a number of interlinear glosses in Italian, which are contemporary, or nearly contemporary, with the book. Text is a palimpsest, with Villa Dei's work written over leaves of musical notation.
