Description
One postcard from William Allingham's half-brother and bank manager, Hugh Allingham to Helen Allingham, with the words "William Allingham Jr., This nam's duration may surpass the Hand thus wrote it on the glass." Below that message, Hugh writes that those words were written with a diamond on a pane of glass by William Allingham in the room where he did much of his literary work. The front of the postcard states that this was sent to Helen Allingham by Hugh Allingham from Ballyshannon, in December 1911. The front inscription is written by Helen Allingham. There is no stamp, and no address written for Helen.
