One letter from Bessie Parkes Belloc to Helen Allingham, writing to Helen while at Madame Bodichon's home, and mentions Helen's letter reaching Madame Bodichon regarding Carlyle's "Reminiscences." Belloc mentions that when she had spoken about the work previously she was unaware her father was mentioned in the work. Belloc also mentions that the work mentioned the family of Basil Montegue, who are family friends of the Parkes family. Belloc expresses her pain at Carlyle's description of her father and grandparents. Belloc also mentions that Carlyle could not have intended for the work to be published in such a way.
