Description
This drawing shows the residence, sawmill, and tile factory of Joseph Dorland in Randolph Township.
Interpretation
The steam engine for this small tile factory did double duty by serving the tile factory in the summer and the sawmill in the winter. The downdraft kilns were used for firing the tile.
Inscription
