Description

Edgar Heafer's tile plant, the Heafer Tile Company, produced many tiles for field drainage.

Interpretation

Most farming communities had a tile plant needed to produce tiles, which were laid in the ground to drain excess water from the fields.

Inscription

The Heafer Tile Company at the turn-of-the-century when it was one of the most successful firms in Bloomington. (MCHS)
