In preparing the map, the foreign trade of the United States, of Canada and of the warring nations was first studied in detail. The principal exports of these countries, together with their destinations, were noted and have been listed on this map in all lines where the United States and Canada are able to supply competing goods in large quantities. Also shows where foreign trade of U.S. manufactures and commodities is suspended or reduced, and where opportunities for increased trade exist.
