What a Happy World This Will Be Verse: Where flowers once were blooming, a battle now takes place, The cannon roar is sounding and foe meet face to face, But there’s an end to ev’rything sunshine comes after rain, Won’t ev’ry one be happy when there’s peace on earth again, Refrain: When the shot and shell has ceased to fire and there’s no more loss of lives, When the boys return to their sweethearts husbands come home to their wives, When all mother’s hearts are cheerful, and there’s freedom of the sea When they give Alsace Lorraine, back to France again, what a happy world this will be. Verse: Each loyal brother answers unto his country’s call, We all must do our duty be we great or small, But when the ‘wrongs’ are righted and the war clouds then will cease, I hope the ones who gave their lives may ever rest in peace, Refrain
