Glass panel (179 x 128 mm.) containing two papyrus fragments. The first fragment, item 17, contains the end of a private letter, dating to the 8th century A.D., measuring 79 x 60 mm. According to Browne (no. 5 in his 1979 study), the papyrus lacks sufficient information to ascertain contents, but he does note Fayumic influence. The second fragment is a piece of a letter according to Browne (no. 4 in his study), dating to the 8th century A.D. and measuring 80 x 77. Note that it had originally been number 18 in the papyri series, but this number was reassigned to another item, now Pre-1650 MS 0229.
