Where Did You Leave My Daddy? Verse: A child alone stood weeping on street corner one day. She was waiting for the return of her daddy far away. A soldier attracted by her tears approached and said, “What can it be?” She said, “I am waiting for my daddy here,” then he heard her make her plea. Refrain: Where did you leave my daddy? He didn’t come back with you. Every night for him I watch and pray without him I feel so blue. He promised to return someday back to Mama and me. I feel so lonesome and sad wondering where can he be? Verse: A letter came from o’er sea it came from her loving dad. Then they all had a jubilee and that made the tot so glad. And now that her daddy’s coming home and he wouldn’t leave them again, The prayers that was said for him o’er the foam were heard and not in vain. Refrain
