You Can’t Blame the Girlies at All (They All Want to Marry a Soldier) Verse: All the girls today are up to something, Something’s goin’ to happen soon. All their thoughts are turning just to one thing, They’re planning a June honeymoon, They’ve waited til now, And this is the reason I vow. Refrain: Ev’ry girl wants to marry a soldier, Somehow the girlies all know, He’ll be true and he’ll do just what every they say, He has been tought how to love and obey, A soldier will always protect them, And oh what a husband he’ll be, He’ll peel potatoes, wash the clothes and scrub the floor, The girlies know that he’s been doing that before, That’s why they all want to marry a soldier, And you can’t blame the girlies at all. Verse: Ev’ry soldier had a lot of drilling, He knows how to be true blue, You will always find him to be willing, To go out and work hard for you. No wonder the girlies all fall, You hardly can blame them at all. Refrain
