Description
One letter from W.J. Stewart to William Allingham thanking Allingham for the kind note and the music which he sent. Stewart writes that unfortunately the plan to preform Allingham's "Ashby Manor," was abandoned due to problems with casting characters and obtaining lady performers to place the roles of Mistress Radcliffe and Naomi. Stewart expresses his disappointment, but hopes to have some opportunity in the future for a production of "Ashby Manor." Stewart writes that he encloses the manuscript for the song. He expresses his thanks for Allingham's willingness and courtesy in granting them the permissions to perform the play. The letter's paper contains a watermark for Towgoods Superfine.
