Description
One letter from British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace to William Allingham informing Allingham that he has received a letter and manuscript of an article written by American journalist Col. Henry S. Olcott, in response to Dr. Carpenter's attack on him in Fraser's magazine the previous november. Olcott asked Wallace to get the article into Fraser's magazine. Wallace informs Allingham that the article is short and well written, likely to only take up 7 pages in Fraser. Wallace leaves the decision to print Olcott's article up to Allingham. In a post-script, Wallace gives Allingham background information on Olcott, and encourages him to read a piece by Mr. C.C. Massey in the "Spiritualist," written on November 30th last on Olcott's literary and official work. The letter's paper contains a watermark for Sherborne.
