Holabird & Root understands that designs for Libraries and Research Centers, while providing for the needs of today's users, must also have a flexible ifrastructure to permit modifications as programs change and current technologies evolve. As both research and activity centers, libraries are faced with unique challenges. They must accommodate ever-growing collections and changes in computer technology, while providing a variety of spaces for lectures, group study and individual research. Our award-winning library designs incoporate group and private study rooms; multi-use public areas for temporary exhibitions and special events; climate-controlled historical collections storage and display spaces; and the latest building systems.
