Lyrics
Two Little Eyes are Watching (for a Daddy Far Away) Verse: In fancy I see just a picture, as softly as the shadows fall. A scene that to me was the sweetest, a picture of home that was all. There’s mother and baby both waiting, the loved one who’s far away, And baby’s blue eyes still are watching, for daddy to come home each day. Refrain: Two little eyes are watching for daddy far away. Two little hands are clasped in prayer, just at the close of day. Two loving souls with but one thought, as they wait and watch in vain. Two aching hearts are calling tonight, Daddy come home again. Verse: This picture in mem’ry will linger, there’s baby at mother’s knee, And prays in her sweet childish fashion, “God bring back my daddy to me.” For daddy is serving his country and fighting for Liberty, While loved one’s at home keep on watching, for one who is far o’er the sea. Refrain
