The Urge of the Liberty Loan Verse: Our Uncle Sam is urging us to see our duty clear, To loan him lots of money for he’s our financier, To carry on this urgent war, which was on to us was thrust, By cruel pow’rs of foreign lands, who in their might do trust. Refrain: So we must count our money o’er to see what we can loan. To our true hearted Uncle Sam to save our lives and home. We’ll get it back with int’rest too as sure as we are born, And then we all with one accord, can blow our vict’ry horn. Verse: They try to conquer all the earth, its depths and skies above, Where all could well be harmony with all its joy and love. Instead of woe and misery, because of needless strife, Where man ‘gainst man is turning with ruthless loss of life. Refrain
