Lyrics | Where the shot and shell are screaming, where the guns roar night and day, there the Yankee boys are fighting in France far away, they have left their homes and loved ones, to fight for liberty, are you doing all you can to help our boys across the sea. Are you doing your bit for our soldier boys, who are fighting for you and me! Are you helping along that mighty throng who are working for victory, put your shoulder to the wheel, and we’ll make our soldiers feel, that we’re backing them up while “Over there,” then when the Yankee boys march thru Berlin, you can say you did your share! While our boys in France are fighting, it is up to you and me, to do ev’rything that we can, to win victory, while they’re winning fame and glory, and are giving up their all, are you doing all you really can in answer to their call. |
