We’re Going to Take the Sword Away from William Verse: When a bad boy makes a noise teacher takes away his toys, Keeps him after school to learn the golden rule. There’s a boy across the sea just as bad as he can be. He’ll learn a thing or two here’s what we’re gonna’ do. Refrain: We’re going to take the sword away from William And then we’re going to take his little drum. Without his soldier suit, he won’t look half so cute, And then we’re going to take his little gun. We’re going to make him march to Yankee Doodle. I know these things will make poor William sore. 1. We’ll sweep his U boats from the sea, and make the world free for democracy. 2. And if he don’t behave and starts to yell, We’re going to kick him in his Keil Canal. So William won’t be a bad boy any more. Verse: Worse than any other sin is the lack of discipline, Seems that Willies dad spoiled his little lad.
