An invitation entitled "Rail Road Celebration" where "The Citizens of Galena and vicinity, are respectfully invited to meet at the Court House, on Monday morning next, at 9 o'clock, for the purpose of celebrating the Breaking Ground on the Northern termination of the Great Central Rail Road." This invitation circulated by the Committee of Arrangements includes the "Order of Procession" and was published in Galena, Illinois on May 23, 1838.
