A number of men surround the C&A "Major Nolton" Engine. The engine went to Chicago to fight the Great Fire in 1871, and it became nationally known because it reached Chicago in such short time to help fight the fire.

The atl-atl weight was a spear thrower used by the Archaic Indians for hunting animals. It was made of stone. Archaic Indians also supplemented their food supply by gathering nuts, berries, herbs and roots.

Bear Chief (Mkopahmah) was a Kickapoo Indian living on the Kickapoo reservation in Kansas. He was photographed by Milo Custer, who visited there in 1906 and 1911.

A brass camphene lamp. The saucer base holds an elaborately molded columnar stand which leads to a reservoir with a cup shaped bottom and a broad shouldered top portion. The wick holders are splayed as is typical of ac camphene lamp.

On either side of him are men captured in portable stocks who are being dragged or led by a rope. The men who hold the rope are also whipping them, or threatening to whip them.

the awning is yellow and red and there are trailing vines on the roof. The interior style is Spanish Renaissance with designs of shield, heraldic symbols, busts of Spanish figures such as Cortez Hernandez. The opening play of December 28, 1921 was called “The Bat.”

Harker Hall is the oldest and arguably the most charming building still standing on the University of Illinois campus. Harker Hall was built in 1878. When first built, it was a chemical laboratory. It is now home to the U of I Foundation. In 1896, a fire destroyed most of the interior of Harker Hall. From 1902 to 1926, it housed the College of Law.

A painted ringneck drake decoy carved by Charles Perdew. There are holes in the bottom where a keel weight would attach. The drake is brown on its back with a black chest and head area. The underside is greyish-brown. The head is turned slightly to the side. Dimensions are 12-1/4" l x 6-3/4" h x 5-1/2" with The mate is LVM1993.011.002.

The Curtiss JU-4D 'Jenny' is a single-engine biplane. The 'Jenny's' fuselage is painted black and silver, its propeller is black, and its wings are yellow. The plane's height is approximately ten feet, the 'Jenny's' fuselage is twenty-six feet long, and the wingspan is forty-six feet.
