Woven wicker cane sewing basket. Looped, raised scalloped rim, loop from single piece of cane on both sides to attatch handle. Two main large horizontal ribs. Smaller cane in pairs, over and under horizontal cane weave. Poor condition.

Mahogany writing box with brass plate in center of hinged top. Back folds down into flat surface on bottom. Slanted on top for writing. Hinged compartments on both sides, covered with fabric. Several compartments in front, one long with lid, one each inkwell with bottle and one square with circular well and ringed brass circular lid. L 14" x W 8 1/4" x H 4 5/16" cm (closed)....

rest has an expandable pocket, three increasingly-sized swatches for pins, pocket for scissors, and a pocket with flap at the end. Green grosgrain ribbons on opposite edge of roll to tie closed, other side one piece of red silk with green leather edging. L 22" (with ribbon tie) x W 6" Diam 1 3/4".

Spool-turned hall chair on castors. Chair arms, back, and seat upholstered. Back is straight with two beaded rods next to back. The rods are topped with spindles. Back of chair is topped with "s" turned wood ending approx. three inches down each side of chair back. Small oval between curves. H 42" x W 17" x D 17".

A letter to Sophronia McNitt from George M. Harkey, a Union soldier in the 126th Illinois Infantry. Harkey wrote about the end of the war and his reaction to the assassionation of Abraham Lincoln. He also spoke about his religious faith and hopes to return home.
