A letter from Peter Johnson to Land Commissioner Charles L. Colby of the Wisconsin Central Railroad Company about the land he purchased from the railroad. Johnson describes his success with farming the land "for the benefit of those who may think about making [Northern Wisconsin] their future home." The letter is dated February 20, 1881.
