1304 W. Green Street, Urbana. Harker Hall is also known as the Chemical Laboratory. In 1986, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

the awning is yellow and red and there are trailing vines on the roof. The interior style is Spanish Renaissance with designs of shield, heraldic symbols, busts of Spanish figures such as Cortez Hernandez. The opening play of December 28, 1921 was called “The Bat.”

Harker Hall is the oldest and arguably the most charming building still standing on the University of Illinois campus. Harker Hall was built in 1878. When first built, it was a chemical laboratory. It is now home to the U of I Foundation. In 1896, a fire destroyed most of the interior of Harker Hall. From 1902 to 1926, it housed the College of Law.

An oil painting on canvas by Childe Hassam of the Palace of Fine Arts building at the World’s Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893. The painting measures thirty-five inches by forty-one inches.
